Fairy

I thought I would just post this little fairy seeing as I have just seen the polka doodles challenge, this fairy lives in my friend beautifully compact garden.

Well it has been beautiful today & I have spent the entire day

out in the garden, firstly came the most important bit which was breakast on the decking then I moved onto mowing the front & back lawns.

I then had a brain wave & thought I would cut out the brambles which turned into a mammouth task. I would like to know how rubbish like that grows so fast , I wore thick gloves but have ended up with plenty of cuts & thorns in me. so much for spending the day making cards ready for our Hospice fete which is fast approaching. I did mamage to make a few cards last night .

The cards above are ones I made for friends & the purple one I made for my sister in law.

Spaceman

I had some real fun making this card. My grandson Kieran is 3 this birthday and I have made him a Space themed side step card. I have really gone for some spacy embellishments on this one and loved the image, which is from Digistamp Boutique.

I have coloured the image using Promarker pens and added a little bit of bling with some glitter. This little chap's name is Josh. This is my first time making a side step card and I managed it without any hiccups.

I am entering this card for the Digistamp Boutique July challenge. Catch you all later, I'm off to catch some sun rays. Mandy.x

little mans card

This is my card of the week which took me most of yesterday to make, thats a record for me.
I chose the charactor then kept thinking one of us had a rocket in our tools which I needed to keep the theme going.
Nettie went on the hunt & found it. I really enjoyed cutting out all the bits & pieces.
The background papers came from a friend in America which are just perfect.
I then decided to put a badge on the front to complete it.
I hope my Grandson likes it as he's actually mad on lightening Mc queen
& toy story.

Hubby's week off

Well my husband had a week off last week as it was his birthday & even though we did'nt go awat we did go out some days. On monday we stayed close to home by going to a place called Godington house where they had a celebration of delphiniums which were fantastic.

the gardens were fantastic especially as there were stunning dragonflies on the lily ponds.

We took nettie and a friend called Wendy who is a fantastic artist who really makes you laugh.

I think we must have been slow as we missed out on the cream teas so ended up coming back here for Mr kiplings fondant fancies.

We also went to a place called whitstable which is a beautiful seaside town where we found a lovely place on the seafront to eat. It was a bit up market as fish and chips were fourteen pounds. ouch .

We also went to folkstone harbour where they have been doing a massive clean up on the harbour itself so we can now see the bottom of the beach , No rubbish so lets hope it remains this way.

I then finished off the week with the charity moonlight walk which was really good even though I only raised £155 pounds but every penny counts.

I believe we raised 50 thousand in total for our local hospice that Nettie and I help out at.

Fathers Day weekend

Well those fellas out there who love football have got it made this weekend as they have a good excuse to sit & watch the footie in peace.
Weather permitting we are doing the barbi thing on sunday with a few family & friends so I had better make sure there are some yummy puddings to go round. one at least best be banoffi which usually goes down well.
I have made some fathers day cards for others but sadly i left it too late with the light to photograph them so will have to post at a later date.
We took 2 of our grand children to chessington last weekend along with my husband & the biggest kid of all was chris with Nettie & I coming up the rear.
Nettie was the bag lady due to her size & not being able to get in most rides.
She did however come on the skylight ride which we all love.
As I said chris was the biggesr kid encouraging little sydney to stay put when the ride was over so that they went round again, I just happened to be on the runaway train at the end of the day & the controller sent us round 5 times without a break. Yes I came off feeling sick but not the others.

I think I must have done a very late post last week as I missed out some words, senior moments.

it's nearly the weekend

well what a beautiful & nearly the weekend, I really don't know where the time has gone this week.
I have made a couple of fathers day cards using the free birthday downloads as they are lovely.

Well my husband is like a child this week as he had a new shed/garage erected & he even took a day off to watch it going up, so we know what he will be doing after work tomorrow( filling it up)

polka doodles freebie

Well as you can see I have been busy using the free birthday down load to make an anniversary scrapbook for my daughter & as usual left it till quite late, infact i was doing quitw well at 2am this morning.
I was quite pleased with the end results but will pobably end up putting a bit more bling on when I get some photos to pop in it.
Well it's been a while but I may even post a bit more tomorrow as we had a stamping up party tonight which was great fun.

Hi there just thought I would post this as I believe this is a worth while charity & none of us know when a friend or loved one may need help.
I thought he was a cheeky little monkey so decided I would use him to make some cards for our hospice that Nettie & I help at.

Well it's Easter weekend & as far as the weather is concerned we have fared quite well, today we went out for a ride with my daughter & Son in law for a wander to Rye & then onto Hastings for a lovely meal at the Italian on the roundabout. on route to hastings we stopped off for a cream cake & a cuppa at Jempsons, ummmmmmmmmm so yummy. I even bought two cornish pasties for dinner tomorrow so that will be an esy meal. I have every intention of painting my daughters room ready for her baby.

catchin up

Hello there my few followers who I have sadly neglected.
Apart from the crafting i have done at our local hospice with my daughter I don't seem to have had much time to do card making, I have however been busy knitting a shawl for my Daughter in four ply which I am doing okay with. I just have two and a half lace borders to do which I have to really concentrate on or I have to unpick & start again which has happened more than a few times. When i get it finished I will post it here. I still have my shawl from my first baby which was 32 years ago, quite scary when you think like that. My nan knitted my shawl for me & I have knitted a shawl for each of my children when they have had their first baby. People don't seem to do as much knitting as they used to.
Well it's getting late & as I am taking care of my neighbours mum for part of the day I need to get some beauty sleep.

Freddie decided that seeing as he is off school after having his tonsils out he would make a card for his Mummy for Mothers day.
I love the hand drawn flowers & he did have hand made flowers but he decided to take them off as they wouldn't fit in the envelope, he though that was hand made from pretty wrapping paper.
Children know what they want.
I am soooooooooooooooo lucky as my friend stuart is over from Texas & he went shopping for me & I have at least 7 scapbook pads, 4 martha stuart border punches, 7 friskars templates & 2 corner punches. Nettie says she's jealous but she will be round to share them with me.

Freddie & sydney are brothers who's Mummy is my youngest Daughter Sarah.
Kieran belong to my son Graham & wife also Sarah

Naughty me

Well here I am again & sadly I can't up load my latest makes as I stupidly loaded them on my main computer, so now I'm settled on the sofa & can't be bother just now to transfer. My computers don't share information , I expect I have male computers.
I have been overseeing the decorating of my hallway in pink & now awaiting an aubergine carpet to complete the package. I hope I have chosen right.
I did make a few chocolate boxes for the dinner table on sunday which I was quite pleased with.
I have also made a card for my husband for our 33rd wedding anniversary tomorrow & I cheated by making my envelope out of red wrapping paper which costs a faction of conventional papers & looks good.
Well must get back to my knitting the shawl for peanut, if you don't understand that then go to my Daughters blog nettie noodles

ME Time

Well before I head off for bed thought I would do a quick post as our day here has been hectic with 3 little boys here today,we went swimming then came home for pizza. all children were deposited home by 5.20 so that I could get a joint move on as friends were due here for dinner at 7pm.
Well the meal went well with my friends husband having seconds so it must have been okay.
In my head I have plans to go play in my craft room tomorrow so watch this space in case it happens.
Time to hit the sack as I'm just a bit worn out.Must be my age.

My Gift to a friend

This is the finished version of a memory book I made for a friend who treats my Grandsons as her own so I thought she would like this.

Hoot Hoot

As you can see I have been playing with the back to nature disk from polka Doodles which is really great with so much on it.

I found the beautiful buttons in my Nan's button jar which just seems to finish it off.I can't wait to make some more from the disk but need to go & do some home work for my iterview tomorrow so T.T.F.N .

Meet molly

Meet Mollie who came to live with me in 2008 when her owner died & she was left to me, My Daughter Nettie now calls her Diva as she is boss & hates me doing things like having my computer on my lap.

At this moment in time she is crying at me as she wants to be on my lap.

If Nettie & I are crafting at the dining table then she sits in amoungst our crafting equipment & often plays with things.

We do have another cat called Tigra but sadly he gets bossed by Mollie but he is the cat that brings me mice or squirrels home daily, sadly the other night he brought in a mouse through the window & sat at the end of the bed & crunched his way through it( yuck
I wouldn't be without them though.

Hopefully I will get on my other computer where my latest craft makes have been down loaded.

So for now it's TTFN for now

Let it snow

well i thought I would just post a few lines whilst watching skating on ice & thought it quite apt that in the last hour we have had at least 6 inches of snow. My Grandsons keep going to look at how much more there is every few minutes even though it's really bedtime.

Handbag as xmas packaging

I made this out of a 12x12 double sided sheet of card for my husband's secetary's christmas gift.

This was quite easy to make but it's the flowers that take the time to make but I found it really enjoyable making it.

The lady it was intended for loved it & has kept it.
