Late afternoon my daughter went home with her boys but sadly one is unwell & has been admitted to hospital so Sydney who is four has decided he is back to stay but said he's not staying long cause he needs to sleep at mummy's.
well if I don't pop by soon then Happy new year as I need to go read spiderman as it's very important.

Secret Santa pillow box

I went to a Christmas work meeting & took part in the secret Santa where by we had a name to find a gift for £7 which wasn't too hard.
I found two Christmas baubles with Guinea pigs painted on them as the recipient loves ( you guessed it) Guinea pigs. I thought I would do a fancy box which took me all evening to decorate but was chuffed with the end result.
I had a good day until I was just dumping my rubbish in the bin only to find my box had been dumped in the bin with stuff chucked in on top of it.
I have to say I was absolutely gutted to see all my work gone down the pan so to speak, I did meet a really nice young girl who was disgusted & wanted me to go back to the room & get it to repair the damage.
Just as well we all have different values.
well thats all for now as I'm fed up of moaning.
Oh before I go we have had snow here , it's soooooooooooo exciting , even better if you can snuggle down in bed when hubby's alarm goes off.
best wishes to one & all
Take care xxxxx

70th birthday card

I had a 70th Birthday lunch to go to last weekend so this is what I came up with using one piece of card.

I cut an oblong piece of card up & then cut a circle & cut that in half, I cut out petals mainly the same & used a mouse mat, embossing tool & run the tool over each petal to shape it, I then stuck all the petals on by just gluing the top of the petals to the card. I then stuck some gold braid on to finish it off. I made it personal to my old neighbour Auntie Irene.

She said when she saw the envelope she knew it was from me so I'm pleased she liked it.

I hope to make this card like the christmas poinsetta if I get time.

Busy but fun weekend

well our weekend starts on friday with the school run to pick up my little grandsons who stay over on friday nights & go home usually saturday evenings.
As the boys don't have a bath at home we always have fun usually with Nettie my daughter getting rather wet & this week was no different.
we managed to get the christmas tree up with the boys putting the 7ft tree together with very little help from me especially as they are only 4 & 5, it did rather lack the finesse but it was fun watching 7 hopefully I will manage to post the pictures before going away tomorrow.
Today was a really lovely day as we went to a lunchtime get together for an old neighbour as a surprise for her 7oth which was really lovely to catch up with all our old friends.
I made a card this morning for our friend & rather winged as it took longer to make than I thought but was really pleased with the finished product.
I made a card in a shape of a flower which opened up, I cut out loads of petals & shaped them by running an embossing tool to shape them which altered the shape making the flower very pretty.
Any way time to call it a day & put the party dress back in moth balls until next time.

Lazy delivery men

Well so much for having a good feeling when you order a new sofa . men arrived in white van knock on the door shoves a piece of paper in my face says sign that, I laugh & say i haven't even got it yet. both men struggle up the drive try once to get sofa through front door say no sorry so i suggest using french doors around back but no can't do that mrs, I suggest unpacking only to be told can't do as policy we have dirty hands. I was told you will have to ask your partner to get it in we will cover with a blanket( bearing in mind that it is blowing a gale & raining cats & Dogs)
Well I had to laugh as I was powerless to do anything.
The sofa stayed on the drive from 2.30 until 7pm so can't be bad, what would have happened if I didn't have a lovely hubby & a neighbour to lend a hand.
Oh well worse things happen but just thought it would make someone laugh.
all i was trying to tidy my craft room but still have a double bed for family to do a sleep over.
I am sad enough to have photos to make you laugh, well I will upload them tonorrow
So sleep tite & don't let the bed bugs bite xxxxxxx

senior moment

well the day started with good intentions at 6am as i had an appointment at ten & promised to pop to Nettie's (my daughter) ten came & went with time ticking away so I decided to check my diary only to find my appointment is actually tomorrow. arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Nettie thought it was funny, I visited Nettie & we achieved a few things so I thought I would go home to continue with my craft room sorting out as I have a bed settee being delivered tomorrow. I never got around to doing my tasks so I will have to work fast tomorrow or the delivery will be left on the drive.
I have been blog hopping to linseys dts & there are some lovely craft items.
well may be later in the week I will manage to get down to some work.
I have a 40th male card to do before sunday lunch time & a 70th so I really need to motivate myself so with that in mind I am going to get some shut eye.
Take care & happy dreams.

You don't bring me flowers everyday

I love bears so make a few xmas cards at the weekend.
Just thought I would do a quick post before bedtime, I have stolen this idea from my daughters blogas I was in a hurry to make a card for my Boss who I thought was visiting today.( blonde moment) got the wrong day.

By getting the wrong day I ended up with Nettie helping me in the way of her making a stunning gift handbag which you will be able to view over on her blog, well once I mail over the photos.

I think I like the bag just as much as the gift so hope the boss does too.

Just before I go I will post one other card that I have made over the weekend.

Sleep snugly

Snowmen on th loose

Hello to one & all.

I said I would post my pictures once I had a chance to get some decent pictures.

I spent an afternoon last week with my very talented Daughter Nettie
but we do our own thing & this is what I came up with. I bought half a metre of this snowman material at a craft exabition back in the summer so thought I would set to with my first batch of xmas cards needed.

I have tried not to have more than two cards the same even though these will all be posted out across the many counties.

I used different coloured card from the papermill & some I cut apertures in to put the snowmen behind. The glitter paper was purchased at Dunelm at a bargain price of £1.99 which I think gives the card a real sparkle & I was able to get 3 cards out of one sheet.

The left hand card I decided to cut the frame out with foam pads to make it look as if the snowman was looking out.

I quite like making black christmas cards & with silver to make it sparkle, I also borrowed Nettie's snowflake punch.

Well I have gone on long enough so I will add the last picture & say good nite.
well I messed that up & the picyures went to the top of the page so that's where they will stay

Sweet dreams

Mandy

Thank you

What a lovely surprise to find that I have followers after just a few days even though I haven't made anything in the category of my trulytalented Daughter Netie.
Thank you for the lovely comments that have been left.
well today I did get around to doing a bit of card making but due to the awful weather thought I would be wasting my time taking photos so hopefully I will endeavour to do so tomorrow.
Have a good evening & thank you once again for your support.
Take care

Sydney's door plague

This is my first post with my Daughter Nettie sitting along side of me to correct the size 9 blunders.
I created this door plague as I have two Grandson's who stay over most weekends & only Freddie's name has been on the door since he was born so I thought he desevered his name along side his brothers.
I thought this would fit the bill as regards the Allsorts challenge which was to make something for a child.
I bought the chipboard letters from the Range but was missing an extra Y so had to create an extra one,I just popped into a local garden centre this morning & bought the star12x12 for 20pence which I used for back ground but to stiffen it I just glued it to some coloured 12x12 card.
I added the dragonflies because I didn't have any worms (which is what Sydney brings to me weekly from the garden)
Can't wait to see what his comments are as he will arrive shortly.
Well that's about all for now or we won't be ready for the chill out on TV for Children in need.
Take care for now
Mandy
